If you have really bad credit there is no place in the US that is good. Do not go to those so called “buy here, pay here” lots. They over price their cars, have killer interest rates, strict payment plans, most of their cars are junk, & give no warning on repos. They also don’t report you to the credit bureaus so you’ll never get any credit rebuild. They do in house financing & are not required to report. In your case getting a legitimate loan w/ a co-signer is your best bet to reestablish your credit.

Many dealerships have special finance departments that can help you with acquiring an auto loan with bad credit. They will look at your income (which you need proof of), your debt to income ratio, and of course your credit score.
You may need a down payment and you should be prepared to pay a higher interest rate. Of course a co-signer with a good credit history would most likely get you bought.Good luck.

You should try and rebuild your credit first. I know it’s impossible to get around H-Town without transportation. Just be careful of some dealerships especially on the northside of town. I know a place in Conroe that I financed a car through when I had no credit…I can give you their number if i can find it.

I know a Family owned dealership that does finance for all types of credit. You need proof of income and a downpayment. They have used cars for sale at reasonable prices.
