I completely agree with “Ask M” (the first commenter). You really need to pay off your existing debts.

I smell disaster brewing, you already have 3 credit cards
and two charges cards, are they maxed out????
You need to pay them off before you get in more trouble
it will only be harder later than now.

What do you have for collateral and is it of enough value to offset the amount of the loan?

I would say a good chance if the loan is something important

getting a loan is dependant upon several factors, your credit score, your collateral, your liability, and how long you’ve had establish credit.

This also determines the terms of the loan. Some loans are just as bad as incurring credit card debt. Anyone can get a loan but do you want a loan where the interests and terms are outrageous? Look at the house market – many homes this year will go into foreclousre because they did not obtain a fixed rate….so be very careful to assess your own financial risks.

Some of us wouldn’t consider $10K a “small” loan. That’s a lot for an usecured, signature loan. I think your credit history wold have to be sterling to get that much on your signature alone.

Maybe you should put off whatever you need that $10K for and wait till you can save up for it.
