If I get one of those bad credit credit cards will it help me rebuild credit?
I just want to get one and cut it up and pay the fees they have on it off and never use the card so that they will report to the credit agencies. I have a 530 credit score now. If I did this and kept paying my other accounts on time, how long until I get to a 650?

First of all, whatever card you get, make sure it reports to at least one, or better yet, all three credit bureaus. If it doesn’t do that, you’re wasting your time.
Secondly, you need to actually use the card in order for it to help your credit score. That doesn’t mean you need to keep a balance on the card. Just charge what you can afford to pay off every month and pay it off on, or right before the due date.
Bad credit credit cards usually come with some pretty hefty fees and interest rates. You’d be better off getting a Secured Card from a Credit Union if you can. Credit Unions do not charge high fees or rates. Just make sure they report to at least one of the major credit reporting agencies.
