Bad credit means no apartment. Going to have to move in with me.
ha ha it all depends on how your landlord is. does he even care. um-mm go to http://www.appartmens.com and that might help you out a little . it did for me
It depends on the kind of apartment your trying to rent. If its owned by a business, or savy investor, they’ll run a credit check and usualy ask for 1st and last months rent, and a security deposit. If its “some guy” renting out the other half of his duplex, he most likely isn’t going to spend the money doing lots of credit checks on different people as those add up. He’s still probably going to ask for atleast 1st months rent and a security deposit though..
Most dont care as long as you have suffiencent income and a security deposit.
Anyone who gets rejected from an apartment due to credit check has other problems also.
I have been in property management for 7 years now, and it all depepends on the landlords criteria. Some of the places that I have worked at are really strict, but the one that I am currently working at is not as bad. You are put in a system that pretty much gives us the answer(Accept, low aceept, conditionally accepted, or declined) If you are declined, we run you on a manual point system, so we do the best we can to get someone approved. It normally just means it will be a higher security deposit and our place is beautiful. While you are looking at places, ask them for their resident criteria guidelines. Hope this helped.
The landlord may or may not ask for a credit check. Any more they are not so smart if they don’t have that as a requirement.

I have just recently learned that some, not all, but some folks do this…
You be upfront with the landlord if you know for certain that they do a credit check and offer to pay an entire extra month’s rent. That sounds really stupid, but some folks seem to not mind that. The whole thing is that you have to know for certain that they do a credit check.

Get a copy of your credit reports. You can get a copy of your credit reports once a year for free. Take the bull by the horns and organize your credit the best way you can. Sit your rear down and do a realistic budget. Run it through Excell. Then, you start calling your creditors and settle your debts and get whatever payment agreement you can come up with for your debts in writing. Refuse to pay anything until you get stuff in writing. Then, start paying your stuff off and never open an account of any sort until everything is paid off. Do what you gotta do. You might want to call a lawyer for further guidance.
Then, on the personal statement area of your credit reports, put that you have a payment plan going for all of your debts and are not going to be opening any more accounts or anything until you have everything paid off perfectly.
This might help you for all I should know.
Bad credit is one of the worst problems to have… however there exists a solution.
I will hereby talk from my personal experience.
