I received a letter in the mail from Juniper (iTunes Rewards) stating that they have closed my credit card account due to inactivity. I opened the account about 18 months ago and have never actually used it. Can they close my account just like that without any warning? How should I handle the situation? (Is there anything I can even do?)

Also, I know that closing credit card accounts lowers your credit score. Does anyone know how much mine will be affected?

What do you think about my loophole of an idea for building almost instant credit?

Lets say i have a credit account and a savings account. I transfer $20 from my credit to my savings via online. Directly after, i have my savings account pay off the $20. I set each action to happen once every 30min. With the “pay off” happening almost spontaneously after the transfer. Would this build my credit or just cause headaches?

I am looking to buy a house in the next couple of months, but do not have the time to repair my credit. Does anyone know of a mortgage company willing to help out people with poor credit? I am sick of throwing money away renting.
For anyone interested in helping me, I live in Scaumburg, IL (suburb of Chicago). I also just moved up here from out of state last year (April), so my job history is not that long, and also I’m a sub-contractor, so paystubs and w2 forms are a problem.
