Can a person with a poor credit rating be refused employment?
I could see this if the person had to be bonded or handled money, but could anyone outright be denied employment because of their credit rating?

Yes.
You can be denied employment for any reason.
It makes sense to me (and I am a former H/R Manager). If a person can not think ahead far enough to realize that they have to pay the bills they have accumulated, then they probably aren’t very smart.
Companies interviews to decide.
Depends on the job. If you are seeking a job where you’ll be handling money they have a huge incentive not to take you on.
