On a bad credit car loan what interest rates can i expect?
i just bought a chevy aveo ,new, and i got 13 percent interest rates.I place $4000 down.Would anyone know if this is terrible credit interest or average credit interest.I know that in california if you get six to seven percent interest this is excellent credit. hopefully someone that works in financing can answer this,as the car dealer will not tell me if i was found to have my credit excellent or terrible.Note:i have my 3 trw’s.

That’s not a terrible rate, but not fantastic either, and i would say it falls on the lower end of an average credit interest rate (APR). I am a finance manager and my specialty is subprime finance. The contracts I oftentimes write are with interest rates in the upper teens to upper 20’s.
The best rates right now for new Chevy Aveos, or any new cat matter, are in the 4.5% range.
I would look to rebuild your credit and try to refinance. If you can get into that 6-7% you mentioned it could save you quite a bit of money in finance charges.
